This refreshingly reassuring workshop focuses on what ANY company with a website can do quickly and easily to enhance their search rankings. It starts by explaining in plain English what SEO is (and isn’t) and then moves swiftly on to tips and techniques for really making a difference.
- Introduction to Google Analytics, and finding out where your search traffic comes from
- Which search engines are the main players in APAC and how do they work?
- How does Google rank your site? What does it look at? How do you avoid your website being penalised by Google?
- Reviewing your online content, page layouts and site architecture
- The contribution to SEO of links and social media
- Bringing your authors and editors up to speed with SEO and enlisting their help
- Are PPC (pay per click) campaigns like Google Adwords worth it?
Note: There is a mini-consultancy session with SEO-expert Paul Crabtree available on 4 and 5 November for companies who would like to ask Paul specific questions and receive immediate feedback on their company website's performance and suggestions for improvement. Companies which sign up for this session can share their URL and indicate questions which they would like Paul to address. The sessions would be entirely focused on the questions raised.
Each consultation will last up to 90 minutes and companies can send up to 4 staff members. There will be a maximum of four sessions held per day. The session will be held at the same venue as the workshops. The fee for this consultation will be $350. About the trainer: Paul Crabtree
Paul is a Director of Velo, a London-based digital marketing communications agency with media owner clients including John Wiley, Informa, Universal Music and The Stage. After starting his career in Informa’s online marketing team, Paul held senior consultancy positions within several large digital marketing agencies all with significant publishing clients, including the leading email service provider Adestra (which serves most of the UK’s largest publishers’ email campaigns).
Paul has run training courses on SEO and Social Media Marketing for Rachel Maund at Marketability in the UK since 2008 and has also worked with Rachel to deliver workshops to publishing clients on these topics in Singapore, Germany and North America.

Minimum – Maximum Number of Participants: 15 – 30 pax
Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis and workshop fees must be paid before the workshop. If the minimum number of participants is not met for the class, the organisers will inform all participants about possible postponement and cancellation of workshop, two weeks before the workshop date.
All ALAP workshops serve tea-breaks and provide course handouts.
Cancellation & Substitution
The workshop can be cancelled or postponed two weeks before the workshop date if the minimum number of participants is not met. Participants will be fully refunded for workshops cancelled by us.
Participants who are unable to attend a workshop they have registered for are to inform us of the reason two weeks before the workshop date. They will be fully refunded in the event of extenuating and mitigating circumstances ( E.g. illness, bereavement, accidents) . Those who inform us later than two weeks before the workshop date will receive a 50 % refund. Participants can also opt to attend another course at the same value within the same year.
Upon registration, you are deemed to have read and understood the cancellation, withdrawal and substitution policy and accept the terms contained therein.
